Day 6: Baiona to Vigo

After yesterday’s tough day we were not in great shape but only had 26km to go. We headed out grabbed breakfast and hit the trail at 8.33.

Initially we followed the Camino but it was taking us in away from the  shore line so we decided to head down along the sea front. This gave us great views of the bay and the sunrise.

We eventually left the coast and were heading in land but running parallel to the coast.

A very old foot bridge running parallel to a new road bridge.

We then climbed  up and across the headlands undulating several times but not more that 150M. It was tough going and were now really feeling the mileage. Our pace overall was much lower than our pace had been.

Some of the views were excellent.

Another hill to climb

A typical grave yard

Another Church

Adding to this was a real lack of any shops or cafes to stop and have a break and  it wasn’t until about 2pm that we managed to get lunch.
After that we entered the suburbs of Vigo and spent about 3 km walking along a river  that was in a park but that was not really being maintained loads of trees were down and at one point we had to debackpack to get past the trees. We exited the park  at  Estadio de Bala铆dos football ground.

We still had another 5km before getting to the hotel and we were now quite soar and stiff. It seemed to just take forever walking past shops and apartments. In some places there was cool street art.

A staircase between to buildings.

To motivate our selves we decided  we would have a beer when we reached  1 mile to the finish and our hotel, which coincidently was 25km.

We so needed that beer! 馃嵑

We continued to climb but then very quickly descended into the old town. It was so steep they had built in escalators, but only for going up. 馃え

We arrived at our hotel at 17.00 that was a very long hard day
